As a surgeon or anesthesiologist working for MSF you may be part of an emergency team treating war wounded in a conflict zone. Your mission may be to join a team that is providing longer-term surgical care to communities without access to a functioning health-care system.
The need is greatest for trauma and general surgeons, although there are occasional needs for orthopedic and vascular surgeons.
